SUMMER IN THE CITY

When summer comes along, flowy dresses and bright prints become de rigueur in most places. Go to New York City, however, and the fashionistas are often sporting their summer whites, sleek silhouettes, and reflective metallics. We love ourselves a loose frock and a fun print, but this week we are taking our inspiration from those serious and sexy city ladies who never let a little heat stop them from power-dressing. They make it work in the heat by keeping the fabrics light and the accessorizing easy. And a little volume and movement in your clothes, something that definitely helps in the heat, doesn't mean that your outfit has to lose its punch. Just keep your colors neutral and throw on your biggest shades. Ashley paired her summer

white jeans and off-the-shoulder top with the Articulate earrings, the Year 2052 bracelet, the Year 2053 bracelets, and the Daring ring. Paige wore the Year 2080 necklace, the Unconditional bracelet, the Year 2050 & Year 2051 bracelets, the Year 2070 rings, and the Soul Mate midi ring with a white jumpsuit and silver sandals. The sleeveless top and wide legs keep it cool for the summer, but the v-neck and metallic accents keep things looking elegant. Your summer clothes can be (and should be!) fun and bright any and every day that you want! But if you need to get your power moves on, it is still possible to pull off the city chic look in the middle of the swelter. Opt for a loose top or pant in an easy fabric and add those metallics!
