One of our favorite ways to wear retro-inspried trends is to mix them with a modern touch. Lace-up was all over the runways for Spring 2015, from Givenchy to Louis Vuitton. We’ve put our own spin on this 70s throwback by adding modern elements like leather, plunging necklines, and structural Stella Valle pieces from the Futuristic Flashback and The F World collections.
The lace-up trend can be interpreted in infinite ways. Go sporty (think baseball stitching and tennis shoes), sultry (like corset laces) or even Shakespearean. We’ve kept the trend modern and powerful by focusing on the fit and accessories. We’ve chosen classic silhouettes but with a suble, sexy spin. The flirty crop top with Paige’s pencil skirt and jacket combo and the dramatic necline on Ashley’s romper update these timeless looks. Both Ashley and Paige have chosen reflective Stella Valle pieces to add a touch of sleekness.
Because the lace-up details and accessores aren’t competing with busy prints in the fabric, they take the forefront in these looks. Ashley is rocking the Year 2061 earrings, Year 2052 bracelet, and Year 2072 rings. Paige finished off her look with the Year 2050 bracelets, Rio Del Mar ring, and Rio Del Mar Grey ring.
Mixing unexpected elements together, like lace-up with modern fabrics or classic fits with sexy details, is one of our favorite ways to stay true to who we are: both tough and feminine.
Lots of Love,
Ashley & Paige
